The center lane on the Northampton Street Bridge Toll-Supported Bridge (a.k.a. Easton-Phillipsburg “free bridge”) is scheduled to be restricted to a single travel lane 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, May 1.
The lane closure is needed so Commission maintenance crews can install cables beneath the road deck to facilitate federally required structural inspections later in May.
The scheduled travel restriction is subject to change due to weather, emergencies, other factors.
Motorists are urged reduce speeds and exercise caution whenever travel restrictions are in place.
