This toll schedule took effect January 7, 2024. TOLL BY PLATE service (license-plate billing) was extended system-wide in January 2024. Previously, only the Scudder Falls (I-295) Toll Bridge offered TOLL BY PLATE service in addition to E-ZPass.
All Commission tolling points are now cashless all-electronic tolling (E-ZPass and TOLL BY PLATE).
Cash collections ended at three toll bridges — New Hope-Lambertville (Route 202), Portland-Columbia (Routes 611/46/94), and Milford-Montague (Route 206) in June 2024. Cash service ended at four four remaining toll bridges — Trenton-Morrisville (Route 1), I-78, Easton-Phillipsburg (Route 22), and Delaware Water Gap (I-80); — approximately 11 p.m. January 12, 2025.
The toll scheduled was adopted at the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission’s March 29, 2021 meeting — the agency’s first system-wide toll adjustment in 10 years.
Background
The toll-rate schedule provides two-tiered rates — higher for TOLL BY PLATE transactions and lower for E-ZPass transactions. (Note: In October 2024, E-ZPass was used in more than 85 percent of the Commission’s toll transactions.)
All E-ZPass-equipped vehicles — regardless of issuing agency or customer service center — qualify for the applicable E-ZPass rates listed in this toll schedule.
The per-axle rates for trucks, buses, and other vehicles 8 feet or more in height is $4.50 per axle for E-ZPass and $5 per axle for TOLL BY PLATE.

E-ZPass users can save up to 50 percent on comparable TOLL BY PLATE rates at the Commission’s eight toll bridges. Three Commission toll bridges [Scudder Falls (I-295), the I-78 Toll Bridge, and Delaware Water Gap (I-80)] allow E-ZPass customers to pay tolls at highway speeds in open-road tolling lanes equipped with overhead gantries. More and more motorists (more than 59 million nation-wide in 2024) use E-ZPass to pay their tolls every year. Get an E-ZPass account today.
