A variety of off-peak daytime traffic restrictions are scheduled to be in effect at or near the Portland-Columbia (Routes 611, 46, 94) April 14-17:

  • Right lane, U.S. Route 46 East in New Jersey, closed 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Apr. 14.
  • Lane shift on Columbia, N.J. ramp, 10:30 a.m. to noon Monday, Apr. 14.
  • Right lane,  U.S. Route 46 West in New Jersey, closed noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Apr. 14.
  • Right shoulder closure, PA. Route 611 South beneath the toll bridge, 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Apr. 15.
  • Right shoulder closure, PA. Route 611 North beneath the toll bridge, 10:30 p.m. to noon, Apr. 15.
  • Right shoulder closure, Washington Street beneath the toll bridge in New Jersey, noon to 2:30 p.m. Apr. 15.
  • Alternating single travel lane with traffic controlled by flaggers on the toll bridge, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Apr. 16.
  • Alternating single travel lane with traffic controlled by flaggers on the toll bridge, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Apr. 17 (rain date).

The travel restrictions will enable engineers to inspect the toll bridge and related facilities in accordance with  the Federal Highway Administration and the National Bridge Inspection Standards.

Motorists are urged to reduce speeds and exercise caution. The travel restrictions are subject to change due to weather, emergencies, and other factors.
