EASTON, PA – The following off-peak travel restrictions are scheduled to be implemented during the week of July 17 for the roadway resurfacing project now underway along the Commission-controlled I-78 Toll Bridge and its approaches in Phillipsburg, Alpha and Pohatcong, N.J.:

DAYTIME

  • I 78 westbound from NJ milepost 0.8 to the Pennsylvania side of the I-78 Toll Bridge – single lane closure (two of three travel lanes open) for conduit installation work 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, to Friday, July 12.

OVERNIGHT

  • I-78 eastbound from the Pennsylvania side of the I-78 Toll Bridge to milepost 4.1 (Exit 3 for Routes 22 and 173) two travel lanes closed (one of three lanes open) for milling, paving and/or lane striping work 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. (next day) on Monday, July 8, through Wednesday, July 11;
  • I-78 westbound from the last New Jersey exit (Exit 3 for Routes 22 and 173) two travel lanes closed (one of three lanes open) for milling, paving, and/or lane striping work 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. (next day) on Wednesday, July 10, and Thursday, July 11.

Brief travel delays are possible during lane closure periods.  Motorists are advised to reduce speeds when approaching lane-closure taper points and exercise caution traveling through active work zones. Schedule is subject to change due to weather, emergencies, etc.
