NEW HOPE, PA – The New Hope-Lambertville Toll-Supported Bridge’s road deck and temporary walkway are scheduled to be shut down for three early-morning hours this Friday, Aug. 16.

The uninterrupted full bridge closure is expected to begin at 2 a.m. and end at 5 a.m. and will prevent crossings of motor vehicles and pedestrians. Affected motorists and pedestrians are advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes and means to cross the river while the uninterrupted three-hour-long bridge closure is in effect.

The closure will allow for set-up, operation, and take down of a temporary construction crane that will be used to install replacement walkway panels and a temporary gantry to further facilitate the walkway-installation process from now through September.

Preparations for the overnight construction operation and bridge closure will begin Thursday evening.

Favorable weather is anticipated, so the expectation is the bridge should be reopened for drivers (Pennsylvania-bound only) and pedestrians in time for Friday’s morning commuting hours.
