Annual Inspection Report

The Commission annually conducts bridge inspections in accordance with the federally mandated National Bridge Inspections Standards (NBIS), which requires transportation agencies to inspect their bridges every two years.  To comply, the Commission inspects its toll bridges in odd-numbered years and its non-toll bridges in even-numbered years.

The reports help ensure the structural integrity and safe operation of the Commission’s bridges and guide the agency in prioritizing and executing maintenance and capital projects.  The reports also help the Commission to fulfill its reporting obligations to bond holders.

The 2023 Annual Inspection Report was accepted by the Commission at its January 29, 2024 meeting. The report summarizes the findings of the inspections carried out by the agency’s General Engineering Consultant.
