LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA – A variety of travel restrictions for the Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project will resume after the recent work hiatus for the winter-holiday period, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission announced today.

On the Pennsylvania side, the portion of PA Route 32/River Road that crosses beneath the Scudder Falls (I-295) Toll Bridge will be closed to traffic during weekday daytime hours to allow for delivery and placement of steel girders on the new bridge’s downstream span.  These weekday closures are expected to continue through January.  Detours are via nearby Main Street/Taylorsville Road beginning at East Afton Avenue in Yardley and Woodside Road in Lower Makefield.

Note:  Delays are possible in the general area of the I-295/Taylorsville Road interchange (Exit 10) when steel-girder deliveries are being executed.  Deliveries are possible during off-peak hours – approximately 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Monday to Friday.  Please allow extra time to reach your destination if using or approaching the interchange during these hours.  Traffic stoppages of up to 15 minutes are possible.

Note: The Scudder Falls Toll Bridge and I-295 are projected to be fully operational during commuting periods; any travel impacts from the abovementioned closure/detour should be minor.
