EWING, NJ – An abbreviated series of travel restrictions will be implemented next week for the Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project due to the Independence Day holiday travel period, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission announced today.
NJ Route 29 NB & SB will be closed in the vicinity of the Scudder Falls (I-295) Bridge during overnight hours on two nights – Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2. Posted detours will be in effect during these closure periods directing motorists to use nearby NJ Route 175/River Road as an alternate travel route.
The Route 29 lane closures are needed to allow work crews to complete portions of the reconstructed/realigned upstream side of the I-295/Route 29 interchange (Exit 76), which has been closed to traffic since February. The interchange’s closed ramps are expected to reopen in unison with the opening of the first completed span of the new Scudder Falls Toll Bridge on July 10.
