LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA – All travel restrictions for the Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project — with the exception of the westbound travel prohibition on Woodside Road west of Taylorsville Road in Lower Makefield, PA – will be suspended for the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
The suspension of travel restrictions went into effect 6 a.m. this morning and will continue until noon Tuesday, May 29. After the extended weekend, the following project-related travel restrictions are scheduled for the week of May 27 as follows:
Pennsylvania side
• I-95 north from the Route 332/Newtown-Yardley interchange (Exit 49) to the Scudder Falls Bridge – Intermittent single-lane travel patterns noon Tuesday, May 29, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, and 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 30 through Friday, June 1.
• I-95 south from the Scudder Falls Bridge to the Route 332/Newtown-Yardley interchange (exit 49) – Intermittent single-lane travel patterns 8 p.m. to 2 p.m. (next day) Tuesday, May 29, through Friday, June 1.
• Woodside Road (west of Taylorsville Road to around Clearview Drive) – Eastbound traffic only 24/7, continuing until approximately June 8 (revised end date); posted detours for westbound traffic via Mt. Eyre Road to the north or Dolington Road to the south. (Please see detour map)
• Taylorsville Road in vicinity of I-95 – Intermittent single-lane patterns and/or flagging noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, to Friday, June 1.
• River Road/Route 32 – Intermittent alternating single-lane travel controlled by flaggers noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, to Friday, June 1.
New Jersey side
• Route 29 northbound bypass of I-295/I-95 interchange – Closed with posted detour through the interchange 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (next day) Tuesday, May 29, to Friday, June 1, with that night’s closure remaining in place until 7 a.m. Saturday, June 2.
• Route 175/River Road – Intermittent alternating single-lane traffic pattern controlled by flaggers noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, to Friday, June 1.
Weekends:
Aside from the round-the-clock westbound travel prohibition on Woodside Road in Lower Makefield, PA, all project related lane closures are required by contract to be lifted for the Memorial Day weekend travel period starting 6 a.m. Friday, May 25, and continuing until noon Tuesday, May 29.
Aside from the round-the-clock westbound travel prohibition on Woodside Road in Lower Makefield, PA, and carryover of Friday night travel restrictions into Saturday morning, no other overnight travel restrictions are scheduled for the weekend of June 2-3.
The aforementioned scheduled travel restrictions are subject to change due to weather, emergency, traffic, and equipment/materials mobilization considerations. Motorists are urged to allow extra time to reach their destinations, and to reduce speeds and exercise caution when travelling through project work areas.
