EWING, NJ – The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission today announced that travel restrictions for the Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project will be limited next week, allowing for unimpeded travel through the project area during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Project-related travel restrictions for the week of November 19 are as follows:
Pennsylvania side
- I-95 north from the Route 332/Newtown-Yardley interchange (Exit 49) to the Scudder Falls Bridge – intermittent single-lane travel configurations 10 a.m. to 6 a.m. (next day) Monday, Nov. 20 through Tuesday, Nov. 21.
- I-95 south from the Scudder Falls Bridge to the Route 332/Newtown-Yardley interchange (exit 49) – intermittent single-lane travel pattern 8 p.m. to 2 p.m. (next day) Monday, Nov. 20 through Tuesday, Nov. 21 (must be lifted 6 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22).
- Woodside Road west of Taylorsville Road – Intermittent alternating single-lane travel controlled by flaggers 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20 to Tuesday, Nov. 21.
- River Road/Route 32 – Intermittent alternating single-lane travel controlled by flaggers 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20 to Tuesday, Nov. 21.
New Jersey side
- Route 175/River Road – Alternating single-lane travel controlled by flaggers between I-95 and West Upper Ferry Road 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, to Tuesday, Nov. 21.
Canal Towpaths –The canal towpaths on both sides of the current bridge are fully open and no closures or stoppages are scheduled for the week.
Weekends: No project-related lane closures are scheduled for weekend of Nov. 18-19 with the exception of carry-over restricted travel periods initiated on Friday, Nov. 17. Thanksgiving: A lane-closure moratorium will be in effect throughout the project area for the busy Thanksgiving holiday weekend travel period starting 6 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, and continuing until noon, Monday, Nov. 27.
The aforementioned travel restrictions are subject to change due to weather, emergency, traffic, and mobilization considerations. Motorists are urged to allow extra time to reach their destinations, and to reduce speeds and exercise caution when travelling through project work areas.
