TRENTON, NJ – Pennsylvania-bound Route 1 motorists could experience brief travel delays and backups on the southbound Trenton approach to the Trenton-Morrisville (Route 1) Toll Bridge during off-peak daytime hours tomorrow and Friday.
This would be the first time that southbound travel restrictions are utilized as part of a deck-sealing/paving/repair project that started in the vicinity of the bridge two weeks ago. All prior project-related travel restrictions have been in the northbound (New Jersey-bound) direction.
The upcoming Route 1 southbound lane closure (two of three lanes on the bridge open) is scheduled to be in place 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1, and Friday, Aug. 2, beginning at milepost 0.6 in Trenton and extending to milepost 80.4 in Morrisville, PA.
The travel restriction will allow work crews to make concrete median repairs.
Pennsylvania-bound Route 1 motorists should use caution, slow down, and anticipate possible travel delays approaching the toll bridge from the New Jersey side.
The scheduled travel restrictions are subject to change due weather, emergencies, and other factors.
