EASTON, PA – The I-78 Toll Bridge’s Pennsylvania-bound direction is scheduled to be reduced to two travel lanes (one of three lanes closed) 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, May 13, to Thursday, May 16.
The travel restriction will begin with a tapered merge on the bridge’s I-78 westbound approach in New Jersey and continue with two open lanes across the bridge into Pennsylvania.
The four days of single-lane closures will allow work crews to install conduit as part of broader roadway rehabilitation project currently taking park in the vicinity of the bridge.
Brief travel delays and backups are possible. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds and exercise caution whenever approaching active work zones.
The I-78 Toll Bridge crosses the Delaware River between Phillipsburg, N.J. and Williams Township, PA., a short distance south of Easton, PA. The bridge is the Commission’s busiest river crossing. It carried a daily average of 63,700 vehicles in 2023.
