LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA – The reopening date for the closed Delaware Canal towpath segment on the Pennsylvania side of the Scudder Falls (I-295) Toll Bridge has been revised to occur on or about Nov. 5, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission announced today.
The canal towpath section near the bridge has been closed since Sept. 20 to allow for the installation of a pedestrian bridge over the canal with a connector path on the western side of the canal.
When completed, the new pedestrian bridge and connector path will provide a safe connection between the towpath and the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission’s 1799 House trailhead area and nearby park-and-ride lot off Woodside Road in Lower Makefield, PA.
This link will be integral once all construction on the Scudder Falls Shared-Use Path pedestrian/bicycle facility is completed sometime in November.
