EWING, N.J. – The exit ramp from I-295 northbound to Route 29 (Exit 76 – the last exit in New Jersey before the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge) is scheduled to be closed with a posted detour during overnight hours TOMORROW, Thursday, Oct. 28.
The ramp closure will allow work crews to install an overhead sign structure on the I-295 approach to the closed exit ramp. The closure and detour is scheduled to begin 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, and end by 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29.
Potentially affected motorists are advised to keep alert for detour signs in advance of the prior highway interchange at I-295 and County Route 579/Bear Tavern Road (Exit 75). They should take that exit ramp and bear right onto southbound CR-579/Bear Tavern Road, proceed to the second traffic signal at the intersection of West Upper Ferry Road/CR-634, turn right and proceed on West Upper Ferry Road/CR-634 to the next traffic signal at the intersection of Route 29. Motorists can either turn left on the green signal to take Route 29 SB toward Trenton and other points south, or turn right to take Route 29 NB toward Washington Crossing, Lambertville and other points north. The aforementioned scheduled travel restriction is subject to change due to weather, emergencies, traffic, and equipment/materials mobilization. Motorists are urged to allow extra time to reach their destinations, reduce speeds and exercise caution when travelling through project work areas.
