LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA – Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project construction activities are expected to necessitate a daytime closure/detour of PA Route 32/River Road in the vicinity of the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge next Thursday.

The travel restriction will enable project work crews to safely move and position heavy equipment to move the pier-cap forms from a new land-based bridge support pier to another pier under construction near the river’s edge.

The road closure is scheduled to be in effect on both directions of Route 32/River Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, October 8.

Affected traffic will be diverted around the closed section of roadway via nearby Main Street/Taylorsville Road from East Afton Avenue to the south and Woodside Road to the north. (CLICK HERE TO VIEW DETOUR MAP) The travel restriction will not impact traffic on I-295 or the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge.  Local access from the Route 32/Delaware Avenue intersection with Route 332/East Afton Avenue in Yardley will be accommodated.
