The scheduled travel restrictions are subject to change due to weather, emergency, and traffic considerations.   Motorists are urged to allow extra time to reach their destinations, and reduce speeds and exercise caution when travelling through project work areas.

The lane closures in New Jersey are needed to allow for painting preparation and painting work at the overpass bridge that carries Carpentersville Road across I-78 in Pohatcong, N.J. and for equipment staging at Edge Road overpass in Alpha, N.J.

The work is part of a 15-month-long rehabilitation project now taking place at various overpasses and bridges along the Commission’s I-78 segment and the approach slabs immediately before and after those structures.  The project also involves work at the Pennsylvania Welcome Center.
