DELAWARE WATER GAP, PA – Westbound I-80 motorists may encounter slight travel delays during overnight periods next week at the Delaware Water Gap Toll Bridge, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission announced today.
The toll facility’s Express E-ZPass lane and shoulder will be closed as follows:
– 9 p.m. Monday, July 11, to 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 12;
– 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, to 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 13;
– 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, to 9 a.m. Thursday, July 14;
– 9 p.m. Thursday, July 14, to 9 a.m. Friday, July 15.
The closures will allow for installation of next-generation electronic toll-collection devices and testing of the new equipment. Motorists will need to use the adjoining conventional barrier toll plaza during the weeknight periods when the Express E-ZPass facility is shutdown Motorists should consider allowing extra time to reach their destinations during the closure periods.
The listed travel restrictions are subject to change due to weather, emergency, and traffic considerations.
Motorists should reduce their speeds whenever traveling through a designated work zone.
