A series of daytime and overnight travel restrictions are scheduled in the vicinity of the I-78 Toll Bridge during the week of February 2.
The two-lane Express E-ZPass/Open-Road-Tolling facility a mile west of the I-78 Toll Bridge in Williams Township, PA. is expected to be shut down from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, to 4 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5. The overnight closure is needed for overhead sign installation work.
Motorists are advised to reduce speeds and use the designated open lanes at the adjoining plaza of former cash-collection toll booths.
Travel delays are possible, but traffic volumes are low during overnight hours.
Additional lane closures are scheduled for work related to a soon-to-be-completed roadway-surface-rehabilitation and security camera installation project along a Commission-controlled portion of I-78 in New Jersey. The additional lane closures are as follows:
- Westbound I-78 from the last New Jersey exit (Routes 22/173) to the toll bridge — Two lanes open (one of three lanes closed) 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5 and Thursday, Feb. 6.
- Eastbound I-78 from the toll bridge to the first New Jersey exit (Routes 22/173) — Two lanes open (one of three lanes closed) 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5 and Thursday, Feb. 6.
Backups and delays are not expected for these lane closures during off-peak travel periods.
The scheduled travel restrictions are subject to change due to weather, emergencies and other factors.
Motorists are urged to reduce speeds and exercise caution whenever traveling through active work zones.
