PHILLIPSBURG, NJ – Scheduled overnight single-lane travel patterns will continue next week along the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission’s 4.2-mile segment of I-78 in New Jersey.
The highway segment is undergoing a short-duration project aimed at repairing deteriorated asphalt joints along the road surface. Project-related travel restrictions for the week of October 6 are as follows:
- I-78 EB beginning on the Pennsylvania approach to the I-78 Toll Bridge and continuing to slightly before the Still Valley interchange (Exit 3) in New Jersey – reduced to a single lane (two of three lanes closed) 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. (next day) Monday, Oct. 7, through Thursday, Oct. 10.
- I-78 WB beginning slightly before the Still Valley interchange (Exit 3) and continuing to just before the toll bridge – reduced to a single lane (two of three lanes closed) 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, to 7 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.
The scheduled travel restrictions are subject to change due to weather, emergency, and traffic considerations. Motorists are urged to allow extra time to reach their destinations, and reduce speeds and exercise caution when travelling through project work areas.
