NEW HOPE, PA – E-ZPass account holders may use their transponders (tags) to pay tolls on the highway network operated by the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) starting Saturday, September 1.
The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC) today welcomed CFX to the E-ZPass Group, the umbrella organization of toll road agencies from Maine to North Carolina and west through Illinois.
CFX owns and operates a 118-mile toll road system in and around Orlando, Fl. CFX notes that almost half of Florida annual visitors come from states with E-ZPass service; about half of these visitors come to Florida by car.
According to an early-August joint announcement by CFX and E-ZPass, the new toll-collection partnership will simplify the travel experience for a visitor equipped with an E-ZPass transponder in his or her vehicle.
With CFX’s inclusion in the E-ZPass system, 17 states now have some measure of E-ZPass service. E-ZPass is the world’s largest toll-collection system. The system consists of toll agencies/companies in 17 states, with more than 22 million accounts and over 35 million toll transponders in circulation.
The DRJTBC has provided E-ZPass service since late 2001.
