Alternating Single-Lane Travel Controlled by Flaggers Scheduled for Daytime Monday, Apr. 27 at Riverton-Belvidere Toll-Supported Bridge

Traffic-flagging restrictions are scheduled to be in effect at the Riverton-Belvidere Toll-Supported Bridge 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Apr. 27.

The bridge will be reduced to a single lane with alternating traffic during that period.

Motorists are urged to reduce speeds, exercise caution, and follow flagger instruction approacing the bridge while inspections are taking place.The travel restriction is needed for engineers making inspections of the bridge structure in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards.

The bridge is inspected every two years. The last inspection ocurred in 2024.

The scheduled traffic flagging is subject to change due to weather, emergencies, and other factors.

Daytime PA-Bound Lane Closure Scheduled for Easton-Phillipsburg (Route 22) Toll Bridge Apr. 27-May 1

Westbound Route 22 traffic is scheduled to be restricted to a single travel lane (one of two PA-bound lanes open) on the Easton-Phillipsburg (Route 22) Toll Bridge during daytime hours (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) Monday to Friday, Apr. 27 to May 1.

The lane closure is needed so Commission engineering consultants can conduct ultra-sonic testing on the bridge's pin connections.

Motorists are urged to reduce speeds and exercise caution.

The scheduled travel restrictions are subject to change due to weather, emergencies, and other factors.

Daytime Traffic-Flagging at New Hope-Lambertville Toll-Supported Bridge Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday -- Apr. 28-29 & May 1

The Commission's biennial bridge inspections process will shift to the New Hope-Lambertville Toll-Supported Bridge during the week on Apr. 26.

Motorists using the bridge could encounter flagger-controlled alternating single-lane travel restrictions during the following dates and times:

  • Tuesday, Apr. 28 -- 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Apr. 29 -- 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Friday, May 1 -- 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Brief traffic stoppages and travel delays are possible whenever the bridge is reduced to a single-lane with alternating traffic.

The Commission urges motorists to plan ahead and anticipate travel delays during off-peak daytime hours at the bridge.

Motorists are advised to reduce speeds, exercise caution, and follow flagger instructions.

The schedule is subject to change due to weather, emergencies, and other factors.

The bridge gets inspected every two years in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards. The structure was last inspected in 2024.

Scudder Falls Toll Bridge Walkway Closed Mondays thru Thursdays until Memorial Day Weekend

The start date for 96-hour-long weekday closures of the Scudder Falls (I-295) Toll Bridge’s 0.86-mile-long Shared-Use Path for pedestrians and bicyclists sicheduled be closed for 96-hour-long periods on a weekly basis until the Memorial Day Weekend.

Closures of the bridge's walkway will begin early on Mondays and continue until early Friday mornings. The walkway is expected to be reopened for use on weekends.

The weekly closures will enable a Commission contractor to remove and replace the uneven puddle-prone polyester polymer concrete (PPC) surface along the bridge’s elevated walkway surface.

The bridge walkway facility’s entry points will be blocked at the Delaware & Raritan Canal’s rail trail on the New Jersey side and the Delaware Canal towpath on the Pennsylvania side.

Affected bicyclists and pedestrians are urged to use the Calhoun Street Bridge walkway to the south or the Washington Crossing Bridge walkway whenever the Scudder Falls facility is closed. Bikes must be walked across the walkways at those two alternate crossings.

Single Travel Lanes, Width Restrictions in Effect at New Hope-Lambertville (Route 202) Toll Bridge until Further Notice

The New Hope-Lambertville (Route 202) Toll Bridge is restricted to single travel lanes in each directions with a 10-foot width restriction in the southbound (Pennsylvania-bound) direction and an 11-foot width restrictions in the northbound (New Jersey-bound) direction.

The travel restrictions will remain in effect until further notice.

A Commission contractor is in the process of removing the former cash-collection toll plaza at the bridge. The Contractor will then erect an open-road cashless all-electronic tolling gantry in approximately the same location. The project also will involve repairs and improvements to the bridge’s Pennsylvania abutment.

Route 202 motorists approaching the bridge are urged to reduce speeds, prepare for lane shifts, observe size restrictions, and exercise caution.
