EWING, NJ – The full schedule of anticipated project-related travel restrictions for the week of Sept. 5 is as follows:

New Jersey side

  • I-295 SB – Off-peak single-lane travel (one of two lanes closed) noon Tuesday, Sept. 7, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8; and 10 a.m. to 6 a.m. (next day) Wednesday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 10.
  • I-295 NB and the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge (PA-Bound) – Off-peak single-lane travel 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. (next day) Tuesday, Sept. 7 through Friday, Sept. 10.
  • Route 29 SB Bypass Lane – Continuing 24/7 closure with traffic shifted through the adjoining I-295/Route 29 interchange’s connector ramps and roundabouts for travel toward Trenton or onto I-295.
  • Continuing – Route 29 NB Bypass at I-295/Route 29 interchange – Overnight closures and detours are possible on an as-needed basis 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. (next day) Tuesday, Sept. 7, through Friday, Sept. 10.
  • NJ Route 175/Upper River Road – Flagging/short-term stoppages possible day and/or night from noon Tuesday, Sept. 7, through Friday, Sept. 10.
  • NJ Route 175/Upper River Road entry ramp to I-295 SB – 24/7 closure continuing until early November. DETOUR: Use the southern roundabout at the nearby I-295/Route 29 interchange to access the on-ramp for I-295 SB.

Pennsylvania side

  • I-295 EB and the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge (NJ-bound) – Off-peak single-lane travel (one of two lanes closed) noon Tuesday, Sept. 7, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8; and 10 a.m. to 6 a.m. (next day) Wednesday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 10.
  • I-295 WB – Intermittent off-peak single-lane pattern 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. (next day) Tuesday, Sept. 7, through Friday, Sept. 10.
  • Taylorsville Road north of I-295 Intermittent single-lane patterns with possible flagger-controlled travel noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, to Friday, Sept. 10.
  • Taylorsville Road south of I-295 – Intermittent single-lane patterns with possible flagger-controlled travel noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7; and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, to Friday, Sept. 10.
  • River Road/PA Route 32 – Brief traffic stoppages possible in the vicinity of where River Road/PA Route 32 crosses beneath the Scudder Falls (I-295) Toll Bridge, noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7; and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, to Friday, Sept. 10.

Labor Day Weekend – A moratorium on temporary project-related lane and ramp closures is scheduled to begin 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3 and continue until noon, Tuesday, Sept. 7.  Weekend of Sept. 11-12 — Aside from the blocked NJ Route 29 bypass lane beneath the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge in New Jersey, no other project-related lane closures are scheduled for Sept. 11-12.

Delaware Canal Towpath (PA side) – Daytime weekday towpath closures are currently taking place for along the section of the canal in the vicinity of I-295 in Lower Makefield, PA. The closures are allowing work crews to remove forms attached to the downstream side of the new I-295 approach that crosses over the canal.  These closures could extend into early September.  Otherwise, intermittent weekday towpath closures and stoppages are possible through September.

Delaware & Raritan Canal Towpath (NJ side) – Daily closure/stoppages are possible 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through September.  These restrictions – when implemented – will allow for construction of a connecting path and access ramp to the shared-use bike-ped facility that is could open on the new Scudder Falls Toll Bridge in early-fall 2021.  Canal path open on weekends.
