One travel lane at the Northampton Street Toll-Supported Bridge — also known as the Easton-Phillipsburg “free bridge” — is scheduled to be closed (single lanes in each direction open) for up to 10 hours during daytime hours Monday, Dec. 5, to Thursday, Dec. 8.
The lane closure will allow construction crews to continue work activities associated with the rehabilitation of the 125-year-old bridge.
The bridge is scheduled to have single travel lanes in each direction 6 a.m. to 4, weather permitting.
A Pennsylvania-bound turning lane will be maintained to allow for left turns on Larry Holmes Drive at the bridge’s Easton side to ease backups and delays. Nonetheless, motorists could experience modest backups and delays at that intersection.
Motorists are advised to keep alert and reduce speeds whenever traveling through active work zones.
The scheduled lane closure periods are subject to change due to weather and emergencies situations.
